The decision by Garuda Indonesia to resume flight services ex-Brisbane to ‘rediscovered’ Bali from 14 December has promoted the Little Bali Hotel & Resort Company to call on the airline to strongly consider rethinking a case for the resumption of an AKL-BNE-DPS service.

LBHRC sales & marketing manager, Paul Cutler said the airline’s decision to reinstate its Brisbane services from 14 December - after closing shop in June 2007 – could, potentially, have a marked effect on the number of New Zealanders travelling to Bali. read more

Bali services ex-Brisbane - no capacity to max capacity in just two weeks

LBHRC calls for Australian government to follow US lead with Bali travel advisory
(June 2008)

The Little Bali Hotel & Resort Company has again urged the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade to rethink its current travel advisory on Bali. The LBHRC call for action follows a US State Department statement issued on Sunday, 25 May advising its decision to lift its warning to the destination, in place since November 2000.

LBHRC founder Mike Parker-Brown said he was hopeful DFAT would quickly follow the US government lead in downgrading its current grade four ‘reconsider your need to travel’ advisory to a lower level. read more

LBHRC announces senior staff appointments in Australia and Bali

The Little Bali Hotel & Resort Company (LBHRC) has commenced the start of what it says represents a major repositioning for the brand in Australia and Bali with the appointment of two new senior staff in both regions.

Well known Sydney-based Pacific-Asia marketing specialist Paul Cutler has been appointed to take on the role of International Sales and Marketing Manager. In Bali, the company is claiming a major coup with the appointment of Bali Weddings International founder Katrina Simorangkir, one of the destination’s best-known expat tourism identities, as a senior product consultant. read more

Little Bali Hotel & Resort Company founding member Adrian Forsyth has again called on the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade to rethink its current Bali travel advisory.

Forsyth’s comments follow the DFAT decision last week to downgrade its warning level on Kenya from a grade four ‘reconsider your need to travel’ advisory to a grade three (exercise a) ‘high degree of caution’ recommendation. read more

Bali wedding business booming

With Bali’s key wedding season due to officially kick off in April, local wedding specialist Bali Weddings International is again bracing for what Australian owner Katrina Simorangkir says is shaping up to be another bumper year for Bali’s Australian romantic travel business.

Citing the strong increased Australian arrival figures throughout 2007 (which jumped by more than 70 per cent over the totals achieved in 2006*), Simorangkir said this, in combination with some of the best forward bookings seen for almost four years, was an extremely positive indicator for the 2008 season. read more
